CIRA Wants YOU! Board Election Nominations Being Accepted

The Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) is looking for four new board members in their upcoming elections. So if you care about the future of the internet in Canada, and want to play a part in shaping it you should apply!

Applications will be accepted through the CIRA elections website until June 10. If you know someone else who would be perfect, nominations can also be submitted through the site. You can read more about CIRA and candidate eligibility on the site, or download this handy PDF.

CIRA is the organization that manages .ca domains across Canada, and they are a generous sponsor of all Montreal Girl Geek events. Their Board of Directors has a unique role to play in setting policy and strategy to help the organization continue to strive for excellence as a registry and support Canadians in building their presence in the global digital economy.

Interested Canadian citizens over 18 from across Canada are welcome to apply to fill one of four open positions for the Board of Directors Election. Professionals with Board experience in technology and the Internet are encouraged to apply, and expertise in one of the following areas would be considered an asset: accounting, law, marketing and communications or technology.
