Celebrating International Day of the Girl with 10X10 & Google

October 7th, 2012

The United Nations declared October 11, 2012 as the world’s first International Day of the Girl. When Women@Google approached Montreal Girl Geeks to help celebrate this momentous occasion, we were thrilled!

Canada has led the international community in adopting this day, aiming to make a difference in the lives of girls and young women, as powerful voices of change for families, communities and nations.

Working in alignment with the 10×10 campaign, which speaks to the importance of educating girls, Google will open its Montreal office doors to host an evening of speeches, networking and action!

Prominent women like Anne Lagacé Dowson, Director General of the anti-bullying Tolerance Foundation and award winning broadcast journalist, will share their vision for girls and women across the globe.

Together with Montreal Girl Geeks organizations including YES Montreal,  RISQ and Human Space will be lending their support to make the first International Day of the girl a great success.

Register for the event HERE! Space is limited.

Show your support by downloading the GIRLS + EDUCATION placard and share your equations via twitter using the #BasicMath hashtag, and don’t forget #MTLGG too!

We look forward to seeing you there!
