Machine-to-machine Technology with Heidi Wilson
The Internet of Things is quickly moving from science fiction to reality, and brings with it a host of opportunities for businesses large and small alike. With a global opportunity approaching $1.4 trillion, this is serious business with serious implications.
Join us in our first talk of 2014 as Heidi Wilson from TELUS’s machine-to-machine (M2M) group talks through how M2M has made its way from custom solutions to packaged products that you might be using today without even realizing it and where the industry is headed.
Heidi Wilson is a market strategist with over 15 years in all aspects of commercialization, from partnerships and channel management to sales engagement and marketing. At TELUS she is responsible for Strategic Alliances and Partner Strategy for machine-to-machine; she has also previously championed for TELUS the introduction of mHealth, mobile applications and managed mobility.
Prior to her time in the wireless industry, she opened new lending markets in Oil & Gas at GE Capital while developing innovative new financing products for their customers, and served as product manager for a variety of start-up technology companies.
Passionate about market-centric strategies, translating market need into profitable growth, and cooperative go-to-market models, she most often finds herself in emerging business-to-business markets where confusion is rampant and a clear commercial strategy is essential.
